ATLANTIC MARINE ELECTRONICS, a wholly owned subsidiary of VIKING YACHT COMPANY, is seeking a stockroom associate.  Stockroom experience is required, marine electronics experience is a plus!

Job Summary:

Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite material and parts between the stockroom and production areas, according to predetermined schedules and materials lists.  Uses computer-based inventory control system.  May determine method for storage, identification, and stock location, considering weight limits, turnover, and required space.  Work performed under normal supervision.

Essential Duties:

1.         Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and may prepare items for shipping. 

2.         Issues stockroom inventory and records all data into computer-based inventory control system.

3.         Responsible for noting out-of-stock items and providing out-of-stock lists to Purchasing Department.

4.         Compares identifying information upon receipt of goods against bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, orders, or other records.

5.         Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and reports damage or shortages to Purchasing Department.

6.         Responsible for stocking/restocking shelves in the stockroom.

7.         Performs physical inventory and periodic cycle counts and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

8.         May prepare reports for depleted items, survey of defective or unusable items.

9.         May complete charge slips in response to requisition for materials and parts and records in computer inventory system.

10.       Processes return of parts/materials and ensures appropriate charge back in computer inventory system.

11.       May drive to outlying work areas to check status of orders or to deliver/pick-up materials.

12.       May operate hand-truck or forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping/receiving area or to service area.

13.       Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks.

14.       Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain safe, clean work area.

15.       All work to be performed to Atlantic Marine Electronics Company quality standards.

16.       Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned.

Qualifications:

High School or general equivalency degree (GED)

Knowledge of fundamental math and computer skills

One (1) to two (2) years experience in a stockroom, parts, or warehouse manufacturing environment.  Experience may be attained on-the-job and by company training.

Physical Requirements:

Lift and Carry up to 60 lbs. on an occasional basis (over 15% and up to 40%).

Requires frequent lifting or moving average weight materials.

Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push and pull.

Requires frequent mental and visual attention on an intermittent basis.

Requires working under somewhat disagreeable conditions on an occasional basis where elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water or chemicals may be present, but usually not more than one at a time.
