JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Service Technician will provide support installation and commissioning of custom automation equipment at customer sites as well as technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and the Service Departments. Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain equipment, electrical systems, machine repair, hydraulics and pneumatics. Able to work with little to no supervision.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Mechanical and electrical assembly of automation equipment and controls
- Work with engineering to commission and test equipment
- Support FAT and customer product testing
- Provide installation support, commissioning and maintenance at customer site or remotely
- Complete SAT and service trip reports
ADDITIONAL ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support for Sales, Manufacturing and Service departments
- Support installation and commissioning (Travel Required – 40%, including flights and international occasionally)
- Troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and Servo Controllers
- Understand industrial networks (Ethernet)
- Assist in the development and fabrication of new equipment
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and systems
- Complete job duties as required in order to ensure that product is of the highest quality and integrity
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 7-years relevant work experience
- Vocational training in electrical, mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in Microsoft® Office® suite
- Familiar with PLC, VFD, HMI, and Servo controls, set-up and troubleshooting
- Ability to read wiring schematics
- Good problem solver with the ability to analyze data
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels and functional areas including customers and suppliers
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience with assembly of custom automation equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Requires the use of PPE to include but not limited to; steel toe shoes and safety glasses in manufacturing areas
- Requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
