Kitchen Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversees inventory management and trains hourly team members on practical system usage; regularly reports results to the General Manager.
  • Controls food costs by accurately ordering and receiving inventory, utilizing PMIX data to minimize waste and maintain optimal par levels and prep lists.
  • Maintains staffing levels within budget by monitoring labor needs, conducting interviews, and hiring high-performing kitchen talent.
  • Leads execution of core menu and LTO rollouts, including planning product rotations, managing depletion/additions, and ensuring team readiness through thorough training.
  • Manages smallware inventory and ordering to support operational efficiency.
  • Models and enforces the company's Core Values, Code of Conduct, and operational standards.
  • Ensures a safe and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations, minimizing risk and promoting proper food handling practices.
  • Drives food quality and consistency by enforcing recipe adherence, portion control, line checks, cleanliness, and proper food storage practices.
  • Monitors ticket times to ensure prompt and efficient food preparation and service.
  • Executes timely line checks, temperature logs, and other kitchen systems, using them as active coaching tools to reinforce best practices.
  • Schedules kitchen staff using forecasting and labor proforma tools, ensuring timely posting and clear communication to support team planning.
  • Leads by example, fostering strong communication and collaboration across all roles within the venue.
  • Maintains the kitchen communication board and confirms team understanding of all posted updates and directives.
  • Conducts daily shift huddles and regular kitchen team meetings to keep staff informed, motivated, and aligned with operational goals.

 

Restaurant Kitchen Manager Candidates Must Possess:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high-volume environments such as theaters, restaurants, or entertainment venues
  • Current ServSafe Certification and local Health Cards, as required
  • Approach work with a positive, energetic, coachable, and open-minded attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Deep commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience
  • Creative and resourceful problem solver with a passion for tackling challenges
  • Demonstrated track record of upholding high operational standards
  • Flexible availability with a minimum 45-hour workweek; open to extended hours during peak seasons
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and general office operations
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments; weekends and holidays must be available
